LII is the New York label founded by Zane Li after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York in 2023. Born and raised in Chongqing, China, Li moved to New York at 18 to study fashion, later launching LII with his first collection shown during New York Fashion Week in 2024.
Li's approach starts with shape. Rather than beginning with a conventional garment pattern, he often works from simple forms like squares, boxes and strips, then manipulates them around the body. Familiar pieces are pulled apart and reassembled through unexpected openings, layers and proportions, creating silhouettes that reveal something different as they move.
Sport sits alongside ’90s minimalism within LII's design language, with technical fabrics and familiar wardrobe pieces reworked through Li's interest in shape and construction. Designers including Calvin Klein and Helmut Lang have also been cited as influences, particularly in their ability to bring casualness into more considered forms of dressing.
