The modern Service Boot is a culmination of 90+ years of experience for Viberg . Since founding in 1931, the company has refined and produced the Service Boot for discerning adventurers, workers and sartorialists alike. The classic lines are rivalled only by the durability and hard-working roots from which this boot has been forged. Without the Service Boot there would be no Viberg and without Viberg there would be no Service Boot.
The uppers are constructed from Waxy Commander suede produced by British tannery Charles F. Stead & Co. in Leeds. This heavyweight leather undergoes a specialised curing process that shrinks and tightens the fibres of the hide, creating a durable, water-resistant finish with a pronounced waxy feel. The finish develops a natural pull-up with wear, allowing the underlying suede to emerge and the leather to build character over time. Built on Viberg’s 2040 last, the boot features an unlined upper and black Commando sole, secured with stitchdown construction for a durable build that can be resoled as needed.
