Service Boot 310 - Black Chromexcel
$1,905.00 AUD
The modern Service Boot is a culmination of 90+ years of experience for Viberg. Since founding in 1931, the company has refined and produced the Service Boot for discerning adventurers, workers and sartorialists alike. The classic lines are rivalled only by the durability and hard-working roots from which this boot has been forged. Without the Service Boot there would be no Viberg and without Viberg there would be no Service Boot.
Horween's Chromexcel leather has been produced by the American tannery for over 100 years. In that time, this leather has earned a reputation akin to other 'marks of quality' like GORE-TEX® or Vibram® – bringing legitimacy to any products which use it. Chromexcel is the original 'pull up' leather – building character with age. This is achieved through bark tannage from a proprietary recipe, which is then hot stuffed with a secret blend of natural oils and greases. The result is a durable leather which only gets better the more wear you put into it.
The 310 Last was originally crafted in 2007, unifying a classic British climbing boot with a mid-century workboot. Its "sprung toe," which lends the 310 its distinctive shape, had its genesis in the early 1900s to provide a rocking motion for enhanced comfort when traversing in rigid-soled industrial boots.
Viberg boots are made for a lifetime of wear, so a sole which can be repaired, removed and replaced is paramount to ensure that daily wear doesn't cut that experience short. A leather Viberg "Chassis" is secured to the uppers with stitchdown construction and wears a sturdy Dainite outsole – which of course can be replaced with wear.
