Its Rainier hiking boot dates back to the early 1980s, built with mountaineer Lou Whittaker, and it found a second life as a lifestyle shoe in recent years. The TL900 is a brand-new silhouette that takes that outdoor thread into a lower, more sneaker-like shape.
This pair is the TL900 in suede, with a shaggier suede on the heel cup and eyestay adding texture to the rest of the upper. A toggle lace makes it quick to get on and off, and a toe cap and chunky lugged outsole carry the trail look underneath.
