Nature's Bounty with Story mfg.

Every Story mfg. collection is an ode to their ethos – a dedication to remaining authentic and having a fulfilling and kind approach to fashion. They’re not about trading off between aesthetics and consciousness.

Their latest AW24 collection titled Earthen Architecture has a special focus on inspiration brought about by nature, which is celebrated in its garments and accessories, not only in their design, but in their process of coming into existence.

With the help of lots of hands, roots, bark, berries, fibres and other eco dyes, plus recycled manmade materials, the collection has come together. Prints are inspired by classic shirting, with stripes and ginghams recreated with plenty of evidence-of-the-hand. Dresses, skirts and blouses embrace antique gathering, pleating and patchworking techniques, all reimagined in the brand’s signature oversized silhouettes.

The arrival of AW24 has also been bolstered with specific garments which are a part of Story mfg,’s ‘Wonky-Wear’ capsule, their ongoing study of the wobbly, wonky, naive details found in vintage workwear, using single needle machines. For this collection, one of those pieces is the Seed Bomber – a reversible jacket inspired by classic vintage bomber jackets. While one side is finished with our wandering patchwork, the other is hand block printed by Sufiyan Khatri.

Elsewhere in the range is Story mfg.’s ever recognisable crochet accessories, from hats to to stash bags are at play. And it wouldn’t be an Earthen Architecture collection without the appearance of some insects, so the Grateful Tee spells out the brand’s namesake in caterpillars.
