Introducing Martin Sallières to UP THERE, a French footwear label that's distinguished a middle ground between the dress shoe and the sneaker. Rather than picking a side, the brand plays around with the conventions of both— creating shoes that feel a little unexpected without becoming difficult to wear.
The Bumper takes a moc-toe construction and drops it deep into a chunky, layered sole, giving the shoe a compressed stance that speaks to a hybrid design all in itself. A soft injected EVA midsole sits above a natural rubber outsole, finished with a shiny TPU spoiler at the heel. The traditional laces are swapped for a drawcord system, while a hand-drawn outsole and the brand's signature checkered insole bring some of that handmade character back into the mix.
