Capri is inspired by Le Mépris, filmed in 1963 on the Isle of Capri at Villa Malaparte, where its use of red, blue and white reflects the emotional tension of the narrative and the France–USA cultural divide. It channels that same cinematic mood of beauty and quiet drama set against the Mediterranean backdrop.
