The ASICS GEL-DS Trainer started life in 1995 as a lightweight running shoe made for serious, high-mileage runners. The SP takes that racing pedigree somewhere a little different, borrowing from mid-2000s track & field spikes and ballet flats to create a sleeker, more feminine take on the runner.
The three-point fit structure of a track spike has been reworked for everyday wear, with an asymmetric upper, breathable mesh and layered synthetic overlays giving the shoe its technical look. Rearfoot GEL™ cushioning softens the ride, while a TRUSSTIC™ support system adds stability through the midfoot.
