There’s a bit of lore behind this Air Jordan 6 retro.
While known in certain circles as the ‘Reverse Infrared’ because of the colour flip on the midsole compared to the original ‘Infrared’ AJ6, there’s more to the story. Back in 1999, while preparing for the first reissue of the AJ6 OG, a sample was created that swapped the black and ‘Infrared’ panels on the midsole around, but was ultimately left unreleased in favour of the original layout. Some 27 years later, this ‘what if?’ moment is finally coming true. The rest of the configuration is true to catalog, down to the Nike Air branding on the heel and black nubuck upper. And in a clear nod to the 1999 sample, the inner ankle collar is stamped with the message ‘Not For Resale’.
