AREA is Australia’s most influential men’s hair brand focused on high-end craftsmanship & self-expression.
Q: How are you feeling now Covid lockdowns are finished? How did you adapt/cope during the last 22 months or so?
We feel no different. Every day was full, exciting & inspiring throughout the lockdown due to the fact we have grown our business & expanded into new markets. We founded our (already) award-winning academy & very recently our digital media agency. We have a lot to be thankful for & we spent the last 22 months expanding our horizons & pushing our boundaries.
Q: How good has it been being back open?
It’s been great to have less restrictions so that we can start catering for the guests of our store. Our industry is arguably one of the most social & in many cases we are the bridge to meaningful connections & conversations that go beyond the aesthetic of a haircut. Being back open has allowed us to express ourselves again & in turn that empowers others to do the same.
Q: You’ve had a few famous people through your doors, any cool stories?
Yes, we have been fortunate enough to experience some opportunities that would typically be unimaginable. One of the coolest stories being that Manchester United flew me to Perth in an all-expenses-paid round trip to service the players for a week.
Q: Where has barbering (hairdressing?) taken you? Countries, cities, backstage of concerts etc etc?
Hair has taken us to some simply amazing places. Collectively we have been involved in multiple concerts & music artists visits to Australia. Most notably being backstage for Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, YG, The Internet, Wu-Tang & Soulection…
Through education, Eoin has also had the opportunity to travel overseas to present his work in China. Twice!
