OG Authentic LX - Black

The Authentic is not just one of the most iconic Vans shoes, it's one of the most iconic shoes of all time. They sit alongside models like Chuck Taylors and the Air Force 1 as silhouettes which have transcended time. Released in 1966 as the "Style #44 Deck Shoe" it was one of the first shoes from the newly-formed Van Doren Rubber Company.

A few years on, the unlined boat shoe would be adopted by young kids trying to capture the feeling of surfing on the streets of California. The thin soles providing incredible grip on makeshift surfboards with rollerskate wheels attached. This motley crew would of course, become known as "skateboarders".
