P404 Original Boot - Brown Suede
Padmore & Barnes have been making footwear for over 100 years and the P404 represents what is arguably their most memorable shoe. As the original manufacturer of Clark’s Wallabees, when production shifted overseas P&B continued to make their own in Ireland, creating the folklore of “Irish Wallabees”.
These iconic moccasins have graced the feet of nerds, yuppies, hipsters and hip-hoppers. There’s something about them that seems to transcend cultural and trend borders, whether that be on the feet JFK or Ghostface Killah.
In recent history, production has shifted outside of Ireland, but Padmore & Barnes remains committed to European manufacturing. The iconic moccasin stitch hand-sewn by local craftspeople in their own home, in lieu of large-scale factory production and each pair still sports a natural latex plantation crepe sole. Padmore & Barnes may have had to relinquish the Wallabees name but in every other sense, they continue their original legacy.
