Be@rbrick 400% Set - Keith Haring #9

Medicom Toy continues to pay homage to infamous artists taking inspiration from their artworks and recreating them into artworks of their own right.

The pattern adorning this figure is unmistakable as it is striking, with it clearly being the work of the late pop artist Keith Haring.

Created in the early 1980s as part of his subway drawings series, Haring's iconic dog emerged as a symbol of oppression and aggression, acting as a warning to the viewer of the abuses of power that pervade everyday life in America and beyond. The dancing dog has ties to his dancing figures, whose energetic moves reflect the joy and energy of the New York club scene – in particular, the gay scene of the '70s and '80s. Their radiating lines have come to symbolise freedom and ecstasy
