Salt & Sea – Norse Projects Spring 2024

We took the latest collection to the coast and shot with Melbourne’s low-lying winter sun in the early morning

Norse Projects presents one of their most character-filled collections to date. Their trademark no-nonsense Scandinavian approach to menswear subtly incorporates cutting-edge fabric technology and construction techniques, while maintaining their signature nonchalance.

There is no doubt you’ll find yourself wanting to include these pieces in your daily wardrobe, but that would belie the fact that these pieces raise above the simple and the ‘capsule wardrobes’ of the world. Details—it’s always the details—elevate their essential nature into something special.

Of course, there’s the pragmatic approach that comes with living in a country that is cold nine months of the year—how can it not shape the way you design—but Norse’s clothes embrace the elements with a quiet regard and intuitive approach, avoiding the generic with inventive fabrications, perfectly apt collabs and a colour palette that is just “off”, but instantly wearable.

SS24 features recycled cotton and alpaca knits, wave dyed nylon shirts, jackets and pants and wool blend shirting. Running alongside the main line is Norse Project’s research and development line Arktisk. Using some of the industry’s leading fabric technologist—think GORE-TEX®, Pertex and CORDURA®—the addition of these flexible and trans-seasonal garments extends your wardrobe even further, allowing you to continue to dress light, stay warm and keep your look intact. If there was ever a Norse Project unofficial motto, it would read something like that.

We took the latest collection to the coast and shot with Melbourne’s low-lying winter sun in the early morning. Blue skies and even darker blue water, pared back landscapes and colours of our urban coastline provided fitting context for the latest pieces.
