Now that the dust has settled and we have a moment to catch our breath, we wanted to take the time to spotlight the design of the UP THERE GEL-Terrain. Our most intricately designed shoe to-date, countless hours were spent scrutinising every aspect of this neo-retro model.

The UP THERE GEL-Terrain was designed for the cold, damp Melbourne weather we experience at this time of year. The colour palette—inspired by the Australian bushland—includes fluorescent pops of colour which come to life under cloudy skies.

For a shoe which sports so many dark hues, the only black piece is the plastic toggle for the laces. We deliberately tried to make a shoe devoid of black, instead turning to deep cypress green and charcoal grey as almost-there alternatives.

Intricate reflective patterns snake their way from the tip of the toe, to the heel collar. Much consideration went into an element only fully appreciated in the dark. We excruciated over every detail. From triple-layered mesh to bespoke carabiners affixed to custom webbing—no stone went un-turned.
