The key to all of this is how simple they are. Of course there was only so much you could do in 1917, but there's plenty of shoes from that era that we've never seen again.
Over the decades the Chuck Taylor has been through several iterations, evolving over time to take on different silhouettes. One of the most memorable eras is the models produced in the 1970s. Converse re-visited this version a few years back and the result was a hit. The thicker sole tooling, paired with heavyweight canvas uppers makes for a sturdier version compared to the standard issue.
