The Converse Chuck Taylor's enduring design is good at many things but it struggles on a rainy day. Those lovely canvas uppers work well in just about any style situation, but it doesn't take much for them to soak up the moisture and leave you with wet socks. Thankfully Converse sought out to address this issue with their CT70 GTX.
Anything that wears that iconic GORE-TEX® label immediately instills confidence. Decades of upholding the "guaranteed to keep you dry" reputation through tireless product testing has meant anything wearing that black and yellow label will step-up when you need it. Aside from the waterproof GORE membrane, the uppers are constructed with a water-repellant canvas.
Can we also please take a moment to appreciate the fact this colour is called "Squirmy Worm" – whoever named this swatch, I salute you.
