Norse Regular Denim - Vintage Indigo
When thinking about denim, we all immediately jump to the one country known for perfecting the art of selvedge indigo-dyed cotton twill: Japan. Norse have definitely worked with Japanese mills before but for these jeans they went to another country better known for their high-fashion prowess: Italy.
So why Italy? Well the Italians do have a storied history with denim, but more as a fashion item. Italian jeans from fashion labels were the item de rigueur a few decades ago, before Japan really took-over. Now, Italy still makes denim but for Norse the appeal was different...
The denim and all trims are Italian-made, with strict attention to environmental impact. Denim is actually an incredibly resource-intensive fabric and making jeans requires tens of thousands of litres of water, especially when we're talking about washed finishes. On these jeans minimal water and energy are used, with a special no-impact process requiring no synthetic chemicals to make or finish the rivets and buttons.
