Zoom LeBron II - White/Midnight Navy/Varsity Crimson
As LeBron James approaches 20 years in the NBA, Nike has begun celebrations and what better way than to release some of the rarest colourways? Officially designated as the 'LeBron 2' this model is the first shoe to bear James' name. Despite his direct influence, the Air Zoom Generation was never officially a LeBron shoe.
This white and navy version was made for LeBron to wear during the 2004 Olympics. Unfortunately this shoe has a bit of an odd place in history, given that the '04 USA team was the first to lose an Olympic game since the 1992 "Dream Team". They would eventually go on to win bronze, having the single worst showing of any US olympic campaign. That said, the US team has won all but one game since that point so let's just say it wasn't a good year.
LeBron himself would obviously go-on to be one of the most successful and dominant basketball players of all time and his first official olympic shoe holds a special place in history for that reason.
