Womens Air Max 1 '87 Luxe - Ale Brown/Gum

As the Air Max 1's 35th anniversary comes to a close, the Nike design team haven't left anything on the table. With a small but incredibly well thought-out range of drops this year, the women's releases in particular have gained some unique finishes. This final, handbag-inspired version may just be their most impressive yet.

The uppers are a monotone wonder of Ale Brown – a colour which Nike has been loving of late. The main differentiation between panels is texture, with no less than four different finishes used in total. The toebox is made with soft suede, with overlays in croc embossed leather which pairs to the matching swooshes. The upper quarter is finished in tumbled leather for a subtle touch. A final smooth leather spans across the heel, mudguard and the midsole...?

Indeed the most unique detail on this pair is the leather wrap on the entire midsole. Thankfully there's a cutout for the iconic Air bubble. The final touch is the gum rubber outsole, rounding-out the brown theme perfectly.
