Few shoes can measure up against a fresh pair of Air Force 1s. The shoe basically became Rock-a-Fella currency when Dame Dash, Clark Kent and Jay-Z argued over who was fresher. Thankfully they didn't manage to buy every pair in existence and the lore of 'Uptowns' continues to prosper.

This new version from Nike – aptly named the 'Fresh' AF1 – re-works the icon for the modern era. Gone is the embroidered branding – replaced with debossed logos. This small change eliminates dirty stitching, allowing you to keep 'em crispy. You even get a spare set of white laces, so you needn't fret about saucing your Bunnings snag.

An invisible but welcome change comes from a perforated insole, giving you extra ventilation – an addition that can't have come soon enough.
