M1906RB
The 1906R is the first time we've seen this obscure New Balance model since its release over a decade ago. The 1906 was the more high-tech running predecessor to the 2002, with swooping metallic panels and a solid heel support cage. The quirky NLOCK system incorporates the N logo into a short-lived technology designed to aid with foot lock-down.
This colourway is a tribute to the 2002. Funnily enough, although the 1906R follows in the footsteps of the 2002R, it was the other way originally. The 1906 released in 2009 and it provided the full-length NERGY cushioned sole tooling to the 2002, which was designed to be a super-premium casual performance model for the brand. Needless to say, neither shoes was a commercial success which lead to them leaving the range pretty swiftly. It's only now, some 13 years later than they have found fame thanks a re-issue inspired by their cult status amongst NB aficionados.
