GORE-TEX® Balmancaan Coat - Beige
A classic solution to a timeless problem, the Balmancaan Coat is a stylish take on the essential raincoat. Although often associated with British businessmen, for decades this style has been adopted by sartorially minded individuals the world over – in particular in Japan.
The "Bal Collar Coat" is said to originate from a town in Inverness, Scotland named Balmacaan. The defining feature of this style – designed to protect against rain – is functionality. The collar can be pulled up and secured like a storm flap, which gives full coverage against the weather. In order to keep water away from your body, the coat is also cut with an a-line silhouette – encouraging water to run off and away from your trousers and shoes.
Nanamica places their own spin on this style by incorporating a 2-layer GORE-TEX® system that is faced with a cotton twill. Without knowing, passers-by would be none-the-wiser to the waterproof membrane which hides beneath. The classic check lining has its own tricks too, incorporating COOLMAX® yarns to help increase breathability from within the jacket.
