Air Jordan 7 Retro SE - Black/Cherrywood Red/Neutral Olive
The 7 was a Jordan of firsts in many ways; it was the first to feature a neoprene bootie, the first to be sans-Nike branding and it did away with the visible air unit after 4 years. In many ways it was the shoe that saw Jordan step out of Nike's shadow – mainly because that was designer Tinker Hatfield's intention. In the end, the AJ7 saw Jordan's Bulls bring home a back-to-back championship in '92 and played its part in an iconic MJ moment. Oh yeah, they also played their part on the '92 Olympics 'Dream Team'...
The distinctive pattern that graces the uppers of this pair has an interesting history. Although it's a bit tricky to see, the tonal black heel print first appeared on the Jordan 7 'Bin23' some twelve years ago. The included jagged pattern on the toebox came along earlier this year (albeit in embossed form) on the AJ7 'Afrobeats' colourway. Comparatively these are more subdued thanks to the Neutral Olive base with simple black overlays. Notwithstanding shades of Bordeaux VII and similarities to an unreleased sample, these are a wholly new colourway for the model.
