Derby Shoe - Black Classic Calf
The original Derby Shoe was designed by Edwin Viberg many decades ago but never saw the light of day. Finally the Viberg design team dug into the archives to give this shoe the appreciation it deserved. After a year of sampling and tweaking the original design, the team was finally able to release what is one of their most refined shoes to date.
The uppers are constructed from a single piece of Regency Calf leather produced by British tannery Charles F. Stead & Co. – a name synonymous with the finest leathers since 1900. This aniline full grain French Calfskin has a subtle pull-up, meaning over time this will age beautifully and form a light patina from use.
Viberg shoes are made for a lifetime of wear, so a sole which can be repaired, removed and replaced is paramount to ensure that daily wear doesn't cut that experience short. A French leather sole is attached to the uppers using a natural split welt which ensures serviceability. To aid with traction a dovetail heel holds a piece of anti-slip rubber.
