Gel-Sonoma 15-50 × Andersson Bell - Black/Green

There's been plenty of ASICS projects coming out of Japan and America, but this time we see a collaboration with Andersson Bell, a fashion label based out of Korea. Working with the Gel-Sonoma 15-50, the Japanese footwear manufacturer has teamed up with the Seoul-based house to compliment their Spring/Summer 2023 range.

The model is a hybrid creation, fusing the uppers from the 15-50 running spike to the sole tooling from the Gel-Sonoma™ trail shoe. The result is a wholly new model with performance heritage and lifestyle credentials. The mystical colourways are inspired by the fictional Asics World – a story which ties the collaboration to the Andersson Bell universe. This land of mythical horned creatures is as bizarre as it is intriguing.

Despite being the simplest colourway of the trio, this version still gets a suitably psychedelic backstory. The black and green uppers are inspired by "Froctonel" – a snail/frog hybrid that lives in the ocean sporting octopus tentacles. It's a lot to take in, but it doesn't really matter because at the end of the day these shoes don't have tentacles.
