The Nike Air Jordan 3 is one of the most iconic models in the entire history of Jordan sneakers. It marks a lot of firsts for Jordan as a brand. Along with being superstar designer Tinker Hatfield's first time working with Michael Jordan, it also was the first to use a visible Air Max bubble, debuted the "elephant" print and it's the first shoe to wear the Jumpman logo. Another Jordan icon to debut on the AJ3 is the "Jumpman" icon. The embroidered silhouette of MJ, arms and legs outstretched in what most see as a flying dunk.

For this "Reimagined" release, the Jordan design team went back to ensure minute details were more aligned with the original from 1986. Special attention was paid to getting the elephant pattern right, along with including the original NIKE AIR branding on the heel.
