Silver Samba x Wales Bonner - SILVMT/CWHITE-GREONE
adidas & Grace Wales Bonner continue to expand their world through collaboration with another collection. Drawing from the same African roots which have inspired her previous collections, Bonner revisits classic silhouettes which she knows well. Distinctly drawing from the culture of Burkina Faso in West Africa, the collection continues her research into music and photography from the 1970s and 80s.
The striking silver of this Samba brings to mind the shine of steel drums, with the chrome reflective leathers acting as a mirror to the outside world. This somewhat cold material choice is softened with crocheted details on the stripes – a technique which Bonner has used in her adidas collection before and one that repeats in her clothing collections often.
