NMD S1 - Core Black/Core Black

This adidas NMD is one of the most impactful silhouettes to come from the German brand in the last decade. Created as a more casual implementation of BOOST technology, there was a time when it felt like every person on earth was wearing a pair of NMDs.

As time has gone on, the mass hype is no longer at a fever pitch with the silhouette cooling. For newcomers the shoe itself may not even register – although it's hard to see how you could have avoided the solid 2-3 year run the originals had. Nevertheless, adidas doesn't forget and they have continued to iterate on the original NMD recipe. The most current version being the NMD S1 you see before you.

Compared with the comparatively simple original, the S1 has far more design flair – incorporating archival references whilst still retaining a futuristic appearance. The uppers are made of Primeknit, incorporating different weave patterns for stretch and durability properties where required. The side panels feature a mesh section which aids with breathability, overlaid with welded TPU stripes. It's the maximalist outsole which dominates the silhouette though, with a BOOST core housed within the translucent rubber carrier and equipped with aggressive Trefoil treaded outsole.
