YZY Knit Runner - Fade Onyx
On the scale of wild YEEZY creations, the Knit Runner (aka YZY KNIT RNR) is likely one of the more out-there creations from the range. Both visually and technically, the YZY RNR is both simple and complex. At a glance there's not much going on, they look similar to a pair of balled-up socks or – in a different colour – perhaps a couple of potatoes. However blasphemous, it's worth noting that these do bear passing resemblance to the original "potato" Nike Air Moc.
That said, the YZY goes about it in a completely different way. Where the Moc went minimalist, the Yeezy Knit Runner goes well-and-truly maximalist. To make a shoe look this way, it took a bit of brainstorming from the YEEZY team. The entire upper is comprised of a thick foam shell which gives it the visual mass. This is then covered in a stretchy Primeknit sock.
