Country x Wales Bonner - Mesa/Easy Yellow

It's with a warm heart we once again welcome the phenomenal work of Grace Wales Bonner. Through her ongoing partnership with adidas, Grace creates her beautiful aesthetic through a deeply considered practice. Distinctly drawing from the culture of Burkina Faso in West Africa, this collection continues her research into music and photography from the 1970s and 80s.

The adidas Country was introduced smack bang in the 70's and became somewhat of a mainstay among the be-flared youth of the clubs and hangouts. Originally designed for cross training, their sturdy design and grippy outsoles made them perfect for all-night shenanigans. Later these would go on to become a cult classic in Japan.

This season a vintage nylon is overlaid with rough cut suede and leather sat atop a translucent gum sole. Keen eyes will spot the distinctive blanket stitch along the tongue and heel, a key feature that has come to identify the Wales Bonner adidas footwear.
