Campus x DCDT - Dark Grey
Having established FPAR (Forty Percent Against Rights) and Wtaps, Japanese designer Tetsu Nishiyama undertakes a new direction with his latest label DESCENDANT (DCDT). Where his previous labels focussed on more militaristic cues, DCDT aims at creating elevated everyday apparel. Recent seasons have seen the label making durable garments inspired by American workwear and classic outdoors silhouettes.
Having previously worked with adidas on two occasions, it is no surprise to see Nishiyama messing with the three stripes once again. Similar to the last capsule, the Campus forms the basis of the collaboration. Previously it was the Campus 80s but this time the more modern 2000s version gets a run. For those of you who aren't deeply addicted to footwear, a slightly thicker sole and padded tongue are hallmarks of a younger Campus silhouette.
As with any Campus, simplicity is key. The uppers are finished in slightly uneven textured suede, intersected with tonal leather stripes. Leather extends to the heel tab, lining and tongue label. Subtle DCDT branding comes via the embroidered heel and a super-secret hit running parallel to the side stripes.
