Seasonal Staff Picks - Brendan

10/10/2017 9:38 AM

With the season well underway, and plentiful amounts of arrivals, we’ve picked a few of our favourite pieces from the latest arrivals to give you a look into how we’re wearing this season’s ranges…

"I love this time of year. We are brimming with new stock from all corners of the globe and have a great combination of both winter and summer items. For this outfit of chosen some of my absolute favourites of the season. Starting up top I’ve paired a Larose baseball cap with pair with some Moscot Lemtosh sunnies. The Larose baseball caps never go out of style, and can be worn year round, so if you’re into caps these are must. The Lemtosh glasses are Moscots signature and most versatile frame. Made from thick acetate they have a great weight too them and again are something that can be worn year round. My hoodie is from Norse Projects and is in a dope olive colour. Soft to touch, with a great fit and lined hood, I had to grab one of these before they flew out. They’re from Norse Projects FW17 season, but won’t last till our next winter, so don’t sleep on them. The jeans are a staple item here at Up There, but one that we all love. The 105 from orSlow is available in a few different washes and is a great in-between jean, not too tight, but still a smart fit. Rounding things out are our Hiker Boots from Viberg. They didn’t these brown joints up for us and they’re sick. Offset with the red laces is how I like to rock them, just for that bit of pop. Thanks for making them happen Brett!”

Mr. Mannequin’s back and in action this week, exploring the laneways of Melbourne looking for his coffee fix in the latest arrivals from Norse Projects, Tom Wood, Velva Sheen, Engineered Garments, and Viberg.

Kicking it all off this week with a well layered combination of Norse Projects’ Elliot Shearling Jacket in Camel, paired off with their Anton Check Shirt in Navy/Charcoal, and Velva Sheen’s Short Sleeve Tee in Heather tucked underneath. Accessorising this week with all of his daily carry packed into Engineered Garments’ Gangster Stripe Carry-All Tote and Tom Woods’ Bullet Chain wrapped around his neck. Heading down to the lower half of this weeks’ outfit, and Mr. Mannequin’s opted for a pair of Engineered Garments’ Ground Pant in Navy, before sliding into a pair of Viberg’s Tan Horsehide Slipper to finish it all off.

Every year I head to Paris and New York in the middle of January for our buying trip with James. I love this trip for a number of reasons, and one of the biggest is escaping the Melbourne summer heat for the cool northern hemisphere winter! It’s tough to come back from these trips for a number of reasons, but one of the biggest is knowing I’ll have to wait about four months to wear a proper jacket again!

The further we get into the start of each year the more I look forward to pulling out my favourite type of clothing, winter clothing. I love jackets, and heavy shirts, warm socks, wool pants, fleece and beanies, so I have combined a few of my favourites currently in store for a winter outfit edit. Up top I have layered Indigo Robes, 3sixteen & Engineered Garments. A few layers are important this time of year as we aren’t too deep into Winter and if you can catch some sunshine over lunch time you won’t need the heaviest of jackets. Just a quick note on the 3sixteen flannel because it’s dope. Super soft hand feel, thick fabric and great buttons, whats not to like? I’ve paired this with Engineered Garments Track pants and Viberg's classic Boondocker boot. I love the fit of these pants and the fact they are fleece, yet still look smart enough to wear daily makes them pretty damn hard to pass up! The Boondocker is one of Viberg's classics and we have these in stock year round. More casual than the service boot, these are for the everyday man. Two of my favourite accessories right now are the cushion rings form Tom Wood (i’m wearing the gold top) & the heavy cable knit beanies from Inidigo Robes, which i am wearing in the wool variation.

Overall this is a pretty typical outfit for me. I’m a pretty relaxed guy and I like clothes that are hard wearing, versatile and most of all comfortable.

Complimented by the natural flat welted midsole, each of the Chelsea Boots sits safely atop a Danite outersole for a long lasting wear.
