Vans Vault have come together with Japanese label and designer of Undercover Jun Takahashi. Drawing influences from his own range, as well as his love for punk and psychedelic rock and wrapping them around two of Vans’ most iconic silhouettes the Old Skool and the Era. The Old Skool comes to us wrapped in a mixture of suede and canvas, donning a formal rose print that runs throughout the the upper and into the lining. Available in both Bordeaux and Grey colourways run a tonal finish through to their signature sole and all the way into their co-branded inner soles.
Taking a more simplistic approach to his rendition of the Era, Takahashi takes to a Black, Red, and White canvas with lyrics from English band The Temples. Keeping with the aesthetics of his musical influences the toe-box reads ‘Take me in time, time to the music. Take me away to the twilight zone’. Each pair features co-branded inner-soles, and leather lining to finish it all off.
The collaborative Jun Takahashi collection will be available this Saturday the 4th of February from our Level 1/15 McKillop Street store from 10am. The Old Skool will be available in sizes US7 through to US13 (whole sizes only) for $180, and the Era will be available in US7 through to US12 (whole sizes only) for $100. Any remaining pairs will release online later the same day. For all of the finer details, continue reading after the jump.
