Saucony Originals Azura ST Reissue

Saucony celebrates 30 years of the Azura ST with a retro rendition of the classic lightweight runner plucked straight from their archives.

30 years ago the Azura was launched with a boastful ‘No artificial ingredients’ tag line. This stripped the weight right down to to give us the now classic performance running silhouette.

You guessed it right, the Azura is back in it’s classic white/yellow colourway hitting our shelves and online store this coming Friday the 14th of December.

Sizes US8 through to US12 (whole sizes only) will be available for $190.

Up There X Saucony Grid 8000 Sashiko

Saucony is a brand that is steeped in rich history and is a company that has had an immeasurable amount of influence on the lives of young people all over the world. With the brands originality and quality maintaining a key focus within the Saucony shoe range; upholding the brands ethos of individuality and quality.

Up There prides itself on keeping our shelves stocked with the finest products from the best makers across the globe. Therefore the ‘Sashiko’ rendition of the Saucony Grid 8000 is something that incorporates only the finest materials from the leather and sashiko stitched upper to the debossed tongue tags, supple leather inner soles right through to the silver tipped waxed cotton laces.

This shoe is the definition of a well made article that is steeped in rich history and tradition. It is this history and tradition that lends itself to the overall theme behind the collaboration...Sashiko.

With the Japanese having a habit of making things that last a lifetime, Sashiko is one of the many ways a products lifespan can be expanded exponentially. Sashiko (literally "little stabs") is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery)from Japan. Traditionally used to reinforce points of wear or to repair tears with patches, this running stitch techniques often used for purely decorative purposes in quilting and embroidery. The white cotton thread on the traditional indigo blue cloth gives sashiko its distinctive appearance.

What better way to bring together two companies that believe in the production of articles that are made to endure, than to incorporate an ancient technique that itself has stood the test of time and whose purpose is to reinforce and repair.

The collaboration will be releasing exclusively at Up There Level 1/15 McKillop Street, Melbourne, Friday the 16th of February with retail set at $250. Remaining pairs will be available online after our in-store release.

Extra Buter and Saucony have come together to collaborate on their coveted Shadow 5000 silhouette. The collaboration itself took inspiration from the democratic process of the presidential election in a social experiment designed ‘by the people, for the people’. As the name suggests, the collaboration was designed by Extra Butters followers through a series of posts to determine the silhouette, colour way, materials through a process of sampling.

The end result, the ‘night at the drive-in’ with colour blocking reflecting automobile paint jobs of the 50’s. Wrapped in full-grain leather, wolverine pigskin suede, and patent leather, the luxurious materials are accented with woven labels, detailed embroidery, and a series of laces to mix it up along the way. The Extra Butter X Saucony Shadow 5000 ‘For The People’ is now available both in store and online. Sizes US5 through to US12 (whole sizes only) for $220.
