Nike DNA CH. 1 Air Max 1 + Huarache Pack Scream Green University Red

One debuted in 1987 while one first released in 1991, but the Nike Air Max 1 and Air Huarache are both interwoven into the fabric of the Swoosh Brand’s history as two incredibly important and influential silhouettes.

Now, they’ve received an interesting mix-up as part of the DNA CH.1 pack. The AM1 takes on the Huarache’s signature 'Scream Green' colorway, while the Huarache adapts the AM1’s original 'University Red' make-up. Each pair features more than just a colour swap, with the modified Air Max 1 taking on a neoprene tongue, alternate heel build, and extra eyelets on the quarter to lock in the Huarache’s signature sock-like style, and the Huarache boasts an Air Max-esque tongue badge and raised mudguard to complete the duo.

Both pairs are now available in store and online, with all of the finer details after the jump...

Nike Cortez '72 Shoe Dog Pack

Nike co-founder and chairman Phil Knight‘s “Shoe Dog” memoir is a fascinating look into both Knight’s life and the early days of his company. Nike pay homage to some interesting parts of his memoirs with the latest Cortez '72 'Shoe Dog Pack'.

Picking apart one of the most interesting of Knight’s tales, the pack brings to life a trifecta of of the Cortez both acknowledging the obvious final choice and nods to two lesser-known brand names that didn’t make the cut (Dimension Six and Peregrine). Each shoe is dressed in a classic red (heavily detailed embroidery), white, and blue colour scheme that’s true to the original 1972 release and each also features an ultra-slim cut, thin midsole, and premium leather upper.

The Nike-centric pair features designer Carolyn Davidson’s original slim swoosh on its side, while the Dimension Six opts for a blue panelling overlaid with a red circle and type-set. The Peregrine pair then uses a swift red falcon graphic with gold text on its top wing.

You also may notice that each pair features a toe cap, toebox overlay, and heel pull tab, embellishments that are not present on modern-day Cortez releases. This is because the original ’72 Cortez in fact drew inspiration from Onitsuka Tiger and their Corsair, a shoe that Knight and Bill Bowerman helped create and were still distributing for the Japanese brand under their “Blue Ribbon Sports” label during the early days of Nike.

These interesting pieces of Nike history have been brought to life and will be available at 12am through our online store this coming Wednesday the 24th of July.

All three pairs will be available in sizes US7.5 through to US12 (including some half sizes) for $170AUD.

Nike Air Max 1 'Sketch To Shelf' Pack

From design to designed, the rich history of Nike's Air Max 1 arrives on full, intimate display though the “Sketch To Shelf” pack.

Each pair paints the OG in a form barebones and akin to the Tinker Hatfield mock-up with a lack of colour replaced with detailed schematics of exact specification. The latter is arguably more simple as it its colour blocking is null and accents are minimal, only favouring the dotted lines, denotative typography hits, and contrast stitching in dark black.

Sitting alongside, is the white and red of the iconic colourway drawn quite literally along itself, with rushed fill strokes along all panels following the theme although coloured outside the lines. Mixes of premium suedes look rough while branding across the tongue and insole swap out for ones of a penciled variety.

Both pairs will release in store from 11am Saturday the 13th of July and be with any remaining pairs online later the same day. Both renditions will be available in sizes US7 through to US13 (including some half sizes) for $220AUD.
