For Spring/Summer 2018 Japanese mainstays Nanamica make their way into our stable of brands here at Up There and Lower Grounds.
Bringing together utility and sports as the key focus for each garment, Nanamica deliver comfortable and meaningful pieces ready for everyday use. Combine this with a heavy focus on technical fabrics and impeccable construction techniques and you’ve got garments that transcend the season in which they were crafted.
This season’s collection ‘One Ocean, All Lands’ brings us key pieces of outerwear, t-shirts, and headwear, created as a standard with advanced functionality to be used anywhere and everywhere by anyone. After all, the ocean is one and the world is connected, why can’t outerwear and garments be a universal language? Pairing this ethos with strong tones from Japan’s surrounding waters of mossy khaki greens, and deep ocean navy, Nanamica gives us two key fabrics across their garments.
GORE-TEX a standard in ultra-lightweight water repellant fabrics are wrapped around the classic stylings of the parka-esque Shell Coat in Black and Navy.
For a lighter weight and more relaxed finish, Nanamica have developed a water repellant Taffeta Polyester. This fabric has a unique finish that allows subtle peeks of the backing fabric under certain lights. Utilising this technical fabric against Light Khaki and Navy Cruiser Jackets, Crew Jacket, and ever-comfortable Easy Pants.
