Outfit Of The Week 28-05-2018 'Winter Ready' Norse Projects adidas Originals 3sixteen Chup Socks

Winter is definitely here, and it's only going to get colder, so Mr. Mannequin is getting a 'Winter Ready' takeover by the team here at Up There/Lower Grounds, and to kick it all off, Jack J has picked out a few winter essentials to get him through the colder months ahead.

"For me an ideal winter outfit is characterised by a mix of practicality, and a desire to stand out from those simply hiding away from the harsh climate. With this considered, my selected outfit aims to not only keep me warm, but also elevate my aesthetic through a combination of layering and accessories. Perhaps the most obvious place to start is with Norse Projects’ Sundsval Mohair trench coat — in a classic camel colourway — as it represents a timeless and essential item in any wardrobe. Made from Italian mohair, with concealed button closure, this coat pairs perfectly with any outfit, and is ideal for layering — an absolute winter essential!

Rounding out the top-half of the outfit I have opted for 3Sixteen’s shop jacket to provide a nice contrast to the camel colour offered in the trench coat, whilst also providing a secondary layer of protection for those harsh winter days. Finally, I have once again selected a classic Norse piece in the form of its Anton Oxford Shirt, fulfilling my desire for pieces which stand out from the crowd via its Dark Navy Wide Stripe pattern, whilst also providing longevity and a comfortable wear.

Moving further down the outfit, Norse’s expert tailoring employed on their ‘Aros Light Twill - Dark Navy’ pant ensures that they are a viable option for both your casual and formal engagements, whilst pairing perfectly with both boots and sneakers — as seen here. Speaking of sneakers, few questions surround the credibility of Adidas’ OG classic the ‘Stan Smith,’ especially when given the super luxurious touch in the form of premium leather upper and lining, as seen in the Recon addition. Marrying these classic kicks with a pop of colour through CHUP’s expertly made, and uniquely designed, socks ensures that no winter outfit will be dull.

Throw on a Norse Projects beanie for that final touch of warmth — and a bit of protection for your hair — and what you have is my ultimate winter outfit!"

3sixteen X Alpha Industries

Up There regulars and long time supporters, 3sixteen, have a big year ahead, turning fifteen is no small feat! As part of the 15th anniversary celebrations, the denim specialists have teamed up with military heritage brand Alpha Industries on a new capsule collection.

Taking two of Alpha’s iconic silhouettes in the M-65 Field Jacket and M-59 Fishtail Parka, 3sixteen have added specific tailoring adjustments to create slimmer fits for a more fashion-forward look. Each item has been carefully crafted from yarn-dyed indigo herringbone cotton twill fabric, woven exclusively for 3sixteen in Japan.

Both versatile silhouettes will be available in-store and online on Friday 23rd February.

3sixteen FW17 Cut And Sew Made In U.S.A.

New York natives and all round indigo connoisseurs 3sixteen have delivered their latest seasonal pieces from their cut and sew ranges. Kicking it all off with their Indigo Satin Stadium Jacket, 3sixteen have taken one of their outerwear staples and injected their signature indigo atop it. Lined with ‘thermolite’ for extra warmth and minimal weight, the indigo satin is expected to age beautifully and develop character with age much like their selvedge denim.

Overshirt, Shirt, Jacket you decide with their Shop Jacket and Crosscut Flannel. Both using specialised indigo fabrics, each jacket features finite detailing from the wooden buttons atop the Shop Jacket, down to the selvedge detailing atop the Crosscut Flannel.

Rounding out the range, 3sixteen have some more indigo for our bottom halves with the Indigo Moleskin Chino. As you guessed it, these classic tapered chinos come wrapped in a specialised indigo moleskin. Classic silhouette crafted with the heavyweight construction methods from their denim ranges.

This season’s ranges from 3sixteen are now available both in store and online alongside their collaborative efforts from Chup Socks. For all of th finer details of the range continue reading after the jump...

Every year I head to Paris and New York in the middle of January for our buying trip with James. I love this trip for a number of reasons, and one of the biggest is escaping the Melbourne summer heat for the cool northern hemisphere winter! It’s tough to come back from these trips for a number of reasons, but one of the biggest is knowing I’ll have to wait about four months to wear a proper jacket again!

The further we get into the start of each year the more I look forward to pulling out my favourite type of clothing, winter clothing. I love jackets, and heavy shirts, warm socks, wool pants, fleece and beanies, so I have combined a few of my favourites currently in store for a winter outfit edit. Up top I have layered Indigo Robes, 3sixteen & Engineered Garments. A few layers are important this time of year as we aren’t too deep into Winter and if you can catch some sunshine over lunch time you won’t need the heaviest of jackets. Just a quick note on the 3sixteen flannel because it’s dope. Super soft hand feel, thick fabric and great buttons, whats not to like? I’ve paired this with Engineered Garments Track pants and Viberg's classic Boondocker boot. I love the fit of these pants and the fact they are fleece, yet still look smart enough to wear daily makes them pretty damn hard to pass up! The Boondocker is one of Viberg's classics and we have these in stock year round. More casual than the service boot, these are for the everyday man. Two of my favourite accessories right now are the cushion rings form Tom Wood (i’m wearing the gold top) & the heavy cable knit beanies from Inidigo Robes, which i am wearing in the wool variation.

Overall this is a pretty typical outfit for me. I’m a pretty relaxed guy and I like clothes that are hard wearing, versatile and most of all comfortable.
