Winter is definitely here, and it's only going to get colder, so Mr. Mannequin is getting a 'Winter Ready' takeover by the team here at Up There/Lower Grounds, and to kick it all off, Jack J has picked out a few winter essentials to get him through the colder months ahead.
"For me an ideal winter outfit is characterised by a mix of practicality, and a desire to stand out from those simply hiding away from the harsh climate. With this considered, my selected outfit aims to not only keep me warm, but also elevate my aesthetic through a combination of layering and accessories. Perhaps the most obvious place to start is with Norse Projects’ Sundsval Mohair trench coat — in a classic camel colourway — as it represents a timeless and essential item in any wardrobe. Made from Italian mohair, with concealed button closure, this coat pairs perfectly with any outfit, and is ideal for layering — an absolute winter essential!
Rounding out the top-half of the outfit I have opted for 3Sixteen’s shop jacket to provide a nice contrast to the camel colour offered in the trench coat, whilst also providing a secondary layer of protection for those harsh winter days. Finally, I have once again selected a classic Norse piece in the form of its Anton Oxford Shirt, fulfilling my desire for pieces which stand out from the crowd via its Dark Navy Wide Stripe pattern, whilst also providing longevity and a comfortable wear.
Moving further down the outfit, Norse’s expert tailoring employed on their ‘Aros Light Twill - Dark Navy’ pant ensures that they are a viable option for both your casual and formal engagements, whilst pairing perfectly with both boots and sneakers — as seen here. Speaking of sneakers, few questions surround the credibility of Adidas’ OG classic the ‘Stan Smith,’ especially when given the super luxurious touch in the form of premium leather upper and lining, as seen in the Recon addition. Marrying these classic kicks with a pop of colour through CHUP’s expertly made, and uniquely designed, socks ensures that no winter outfit will be dull.
Throw on a Norse Projects beanie for that final touch of warmth — and a bit of protection for your hair — and what you have is my ultimate winter outfit!"
