Converse and Brain Dead come together on a capsule collection bringing Brain Dead's signature graphic designs and bold prints together with an archive of patterns mashed up atop the 1970's Chuck Taylor.
Converse’s first graphic pattern was introduced in 1983, a camouflage print applied to the Chuck Taylor All Star. Glow-in-the-dark animal prints followed in 1988, and a patriotic American Flag print in 1992. Brain Dead have taken to these archives mixing and matching them against the 1970's silhouette. These prints were mashed together to create a bold and energizing graphic statement that connects to designer Kyle Ng’s vision that his brand 'Is Not One Person, Nor Is It One Idea'.
The collection, anchored in Converse graphic prints, is interpreted across footwear, apparel and accessories, which are stylized as if they were a mix of fabrics and prints seen scattered on a factory floor. Each pair features asymmetrical screen printing on the upper and text detail on foxing tape that reads: ͞To see and be seen as far as the eye can see. Who Controls the Control Men.
Alongside the 1970's Chuck Taylor, sits a long sleeve and short sleeve duo of graphic tees.
The collection will release this coming Friday the 26th of October. Releasing from 11am at our Lower Grounds Basement 15 McKillop Street store. Remaining pairs will be available online later the same day.
The Chuck Taylor will be available in sizes US7 through to US12 (whole sizes only) for $140AUD.
Short sleeve tees will be $60AUD, and long sleeve tees $70AUD in sizes S to XL.
