Nike loves to play around with the classics, this kids Air Max 1 being no exception. As much as they'd like you to think it's a 'Challenge Red' shoe we all know it's essentially a modified remake of the OG 'University Red' from 1987.

Where these differ is in the material selection – the synthetic macro-suede uppers are instead rendered in a suede leather. This creates both a more durable and objectively nicer pair of shoes. Perfect for the kid.
